Snapdragon vs Intel/AMD

Go to solution Solved by keskparane,

I have a Surface Pro with Snapdragon.

So far Google Drive is the only thing I've encountered that's not supported (they promising it soon). Other than that I'm happy with it, can play games, 3D design.

I think there was something the other day though about Qualcomm and Arm. No idea if it will have anything to do with the future of Snapdragon PC's but might be worth investigating.

Hi, I am a Biochemistry student in the UK looking to buy a new laptop.

I currently own a old surface go (10" display), and I find the screen furstratingly small and the small keyboard difficult to use.

I am looking at Lenovo's new co-pilot ThinkBook 16 Gen 7 with Snapdragon or ThinkPad E16 Gen 1 with a 13th gen intel, they are both similar prices (and on sale) but the Snapdragon machine has double the RAM; nicer screen; and bigger battery. I was wondering if I am missing something, am I getting sold a really bad CPU?

I have watched Linus' reviews, and since I mainly use my laptop to run windows 365 software and google chrome to read papers and take notes, so I thought the Snapdragon would be a really good option. However, I also frequenty run Prism (graphing software), do some light bioinformatics using python scripts, and run Snapgene (molecular biology visualiser). Does anyone have experience of using a Snapdragon/ARM computer with these softwares?

Any advice is gratefully recieved! :)

If you're interested in a product please download and read the manual first.
