I dunno about your BIOS but mine only lets me pick 1 XMP profile. Meaning that I expect it would work if the XMP profiles matched.

 

Saying that I have installed RAM with different timings before and never had a failure. I expect the sticks used the slowest settings of the 2 sets, but I don't know for sure.

 

Thinking about it I would have got matching MHz, just the cas etc settings would have been different.

Matching 2 sticks of RAM from different sets brings possible chance that it might not run at rated speed, but size of RAM doesn't have an impact, at least not to normal consumer. Fine to add together. All together for 48GB of RAM will be fine. But they all will run at lowest common denominator for speed and latency.
