So No matter my Allocated RAM Amounts I had it start with 12gb and Limit to the fullest of 16gb. 'java -Xmx16384M -Xms12288M -jar server.jar nogui' as a 'Run.bat' File. I run this as the Server and before anything happens, before I even log on it says 'Server Thread/WARN: Cant keep up! Is the Server Overloaded?' Avg 15180ms or 300 Ticks behind. WHAT AM I DOING WRONG!?!?!? I just want this shizz to work.. 😢 Please.. I'm desperate now.. I need this to work.

Did you install JDK 23?

Yes. I did a deep dive and uninstalled all other Java instances that were old JDK and installed the latest version.

You should never allocate all the amount of RAM you have. You need to save some for your OS, or the performance will absolutely cripple due to significant paging and might crash as well. This didn't happen in your case because it would never actually allocate all the memory that you gave it, but if it needs to, then it can.

Did you also upgrade to the 1.21 server? I don't think its necessary, but might as well do it.

Did you monitor task manager while running the server? By any chance it is limited to less CPU cores (you can change the affinity in task manager)? Are the CPU clock speeds okay?

There is also the random tick speed game element in Minecraft, and if set too high, will definitely make the TPS (ticks per second) lag. You should try deleting all the server config files and regenerate them. Delete the server jar file and re-download it just in case. You can trying running "/gamerule randomtickspeed 3". I believe 3 is the default in MC Java.

Also I should ask, how frequently are you getting the lag message? Remember, the 6600K is not that particularly fast of a CPU nowadays, so sometimes if 1 or 2 players go generating some chunks here and there, then you can expect the server to lag a bit. I want to know if the message occurs if just you are connected only, and if you are standing still in the world.

At the end, you might just ignore the warning, if it doesn't really affect your experience that much. Are you really seeing the lag when playing on the server? Break some blocks, see entity movement, and drop sand or gravel from a height. See if you can even notice the lag.

PLEASE MARK COMMENTS AS SOLUTION IF SATISFIED!!

I didnt want to update the Server since I have builds on it already. I watched the TM and saw that there wasnt anything really happening with the CPU at all. Nothing abnormal, no weird spikes on the hardware. Sometimes though the speed of the network will spike and will never really achieve its fullest speed. Even after when I went into the Port settings and adjusted them to be 1GB Full Duplex. The specs are above what is recommended so it should run regardless?

To anwser your question. Yes. The Message pops up when I am standing still in the world not doing anything.

The lag is unacceptable. It is not to a degree to where I can ignore it sadly. Running and stuff is fine. But all of other Minecraft things are laggy as hell.

@Rivettz

What if no players are connected to the server at all? Does it still lag? No way.

Also, did you check that random tick speed is set to 3?

Yes way. The message procs almost immediately after initiation. I have not set Tick to 3. I havent look at it yet. I cant bare the frustration..

Then something is totally wrong here, and is the fault of the server, and not being caused because of any client connection or anything.

Did you delete all the server files and re-generate them, or better get a new server jar file?

And try to set random tick speed to 3. Do "/gamerule randomtickspeed 3".

I transferred the working server from my Main Gaming machine to my server. Keep in mind my Gaming rig is FAR more powerful than the server. Would it be ideal to download a new server and then just transfer the world?

Start fresh and generate a new config. If that works without issue, then bring the world files over. You're playing process of elimination here.
