4k hdmi switch problem

Hi. Some months ago I bought an hdmi switch (2.1) and I have some problems with it. I wanted to use it so that I can use my pc with the monitor but also with the TV.

When I first tried it, it was working properly (I could switch between the monitor and the TV with the press of a button and I had 4k 120 Hz on the TV).

I'm not sure what happened but right now there are 2 problems:

1. When I use the switch I have much less fps comparing to plugging the cable directly into the pc.

2. When I use the switch I can't use 4k 120 Hz anymore (I just get a black screen).

I don't know what to do to make it work property. I use good hdmi 2.1 cables and it used to work but I think I fiddled with some settings or something and now it doesn't work anymore.

Do you mean that you get black screen on one of the screens? Which one? What is the length of the cable? Have you tested the switch with different cables?

What you've said about having lower FPS doesn't make a lot of sense but we'll see. The black screen problem might be due to something having been damaged. Either the switch itself or the cable. But you have to do all sorts of tests to figure things out

Sorry for the late reply. Using the switch I can choose to either use the PC with the monitor or with the TV (but only at 60 Hz on the TV because as soon as i switch to 120 hz while having the pc connected to the TV via the switch, the tv will suddenly go black and say no hdmi input). If i were to take the cables out of the switch and just connect the PC straight to the TV I can go past 60 hz, up to 120 hz and it works perfectly.
