Jump to content

Booting to your Windows installer and choosing "Install Windows but keep files and settings" should do the trick.

 

Generally I prefer backing up what I need and wiping the rest.

yeah honestly its a bit more of a pain to do the reconfig but I think it works a bit better to backup and clean install.

 

If you have a lot of apps to reinstall(discord,steam,chrome etc.) use Ninite. they can get them all installed in one go rather than having to go to individual websites

Technology is like a good friend that does its best to piss you off at every turn. yet we love them anyway.

would i be able to do that through windows on the reset this pc thing?

Should be possible.

 

I prefer keeping a USB drive with a Windows installer handy, they're not hard to make. Having that has saved me plenty of times.

yea i have one i just thought that through windows was better or the same i just hate resetting windows but i been having terrible performance since upgrading so i guess ill have to
