I have a Amd 7900xt and I updated the driver to 24.10.1 from 24.1.1

After updating and restarting started seeing restart your system as system settings have changed.

Restarted same message now started seeing pci bus restart required.

Tried rolling back driver same issue.

Saw that a system update was pending updated it. On next restart pci error didn't pop up but system settings have changed error is still coming up.

I see that someone has suggested stopping and external events utility, have not done that as I am not sure what exactly that does.

Update: Just an update games are not working on full screen mode just in a small window in top left..

There's a tool for purging your GPU drivers from your system (forgot the name). It nukes all GPU drivers it can find from your system so you can start again. Probably not a bad idea to use that.

I tried it launched in safe mode without networking. Tried to install the downloaded amd driver but it needed internet. Connected it to the same and completed it. Issue still remains and now system settings have changed pop up has come back.

1. DDU in safe mode to remove drivers and do not allow Windows to auto update after the reboot

2. Run SFC and DISM (easy to find out how)

3. Download and install driver from this link (do not use the auto detect utility) https://www.amd.com/en/support/downloads/drivers.html/graphics/radeon-rx/radeon-rx-7000-series/amd-radeon-rx-7900-xt.html
