Plex + Chromecast

Does anyone have any experience with using the Plex Android app with their chromecast? I know the app was updated months ago to support casting content but I haven't heard much about people trying it. I have no use for Plex outside of using it for that sole purpose and it would be a shame to waste $5 on software I won't use (yes, $5). 

 

Experiences anyone?
