Weird Dual boot issue

Dzaxis

Hi i seem to haveencountered an error after recently wiping my laptop and installing a dual boot Arch / Win 11 setup to follow the set up and work flow i haveset up on my desktop.

have encountered a small issue though. when i power on the boot loader text is ridiculously small and if i attempt to change it via config by setting a lower resolution it does indeed make the boot loader text bigger as expected, but also seems to lock whichevr OS i boot into that resolution.. my laptop is running 3072x1920 resolution. but if i set the boot loader to say 1920x1080 then it locks the booted os to that resoltion also..

i dont have this issue on my desktop with the same Arch / W11 install running on a 4k display. so not sure why its happening on my laptop? any ideas?

Afaik the likely reason its happening on your laptop and not your desktop is because smaller screens with high reselutions have higher pixel density

E.g equally many pixels but smaller, each pixel is smaller to fit inside the smaller display

And for a potentiall fix:

Google something like "grub increase text size on high dpi screens"

https://martin.rpdev.net/2017/01/21/setting-console-font-size-on-hidpi-screens-in-fedora.html

No idea if that one works, but its an idea i i guess :]

Also i just asumed you were using grub, as it is one of the most common if not the most  common bootloader
