hi,all i have a Ryzen 7 5800x which i am currently overclocking using Ryzen master and I'm trying to understand what is happening!

so Core 1 is my "best for overclocking" core =4100mhz

Core 6 my windows preferred =4050mhz

the rest are at 4000mhz

if all the cores speed is the same then all cores use that speed under load

but for example, if core 1 is higher it uses that core for everything no matter the difference while the others sit at 3500mhz and below

and I'm getting 5 different readings from 5 different apps

msi afterburner is saying both cores 1 and 2 are running at 4100 MHz while the rest are at 3250mhz under load

Ryzen master is saying core 1 is running under 3700mhz while the rest not even at 1000mhz

CPU-Z is saying core 1(#0) is running at 4100 mhz while the rest is running at 3250mhz

Task Manager is saying 3.6mhz(windows preferred most likely)

RSS(or whatever) overlay from msi is saying 4100mhz

I'm so confused on what to trust can i even adjust the cores by themselves, or do they all need to be at the same speed? if so then why have a "best for overclocking" if i gotta put all cores at the same speed to use all cores even during stress test it uses core 1 cause that's 100mhz faster but i bring back down to 4000mhz oh look now they are all at 4000mhz.. I'm so confused please help 😞

Wait, 70W? The 5800X is rated for 105W.

i can make it go to 105 but the temps skyrocket so I left it at default and apparently that's default the 70w is playing Once Human at 1440p all high even if I play at 1080p high with 1440p image scaling same thing 70w-76 watts even at 100% usage

That's kinda the point, you wont get much overclocking without increasing the TDP as you'd be relying entirely on under volting the cores.

ASUS B650E-F GAMING WIFI + R7 7800X3D + 2x Corsair Vengeance 32GB DDR5-6000 CL30-36-36-76  + ASUS RTX 4090 TUF Gaming OC

Router:  Intel N100 (pfSense) Backup: GL.iNet GL-X3000/ Spitz AX Switches: Netgear MS510TXUP, MS510TXPP, GS110EMX
WiFi6: Zyxel NWA210AX (1.7Gbit peak at 160Mhz) WiFi5: Ubiquiti NanoHD OpenWRT (~500Mbit at 80Mhz)
ISPs: Zen Full Fibre 900 (~930Mbit down, 115Mbit up) + Three 5G (~1200Mbit down, 115Mbit up, variable)
Upgrading Laptop/Desktop CNVIo WiFi 5 cards to PCIe WiFi6e/7

i am able to achieve 4550mhz over the base 3800mhz with only 1.1875 volts only time i seen my TDP reach 105 is when ryzen master thought it would be good prank to put the volts up to 1.4 basically making the entire top of ryzen master be red and reach 90c i can even put all my cores onto 4100mhz at 1.18 volts but i want my best overclocking core and windows preferred to be faster than the not so special cores. but when i do it. it Favours the fastest core and basically makes the rest useless
