I tried to build my first PC but somehow it doesn't post.

Computer Type: Desktop

GPU: RTX 4060Ti (12GB)/ Radeon 780m

CPU: RYZEN 7 8700G 8 CORE 16 THREADS

Motherboard:  AsRock A620m Pro RS

BIOS Version: unknown/ 3.08 flashed

RAM: 32 GB (2x16) CORSAIR VENGEANCE

PSU: Seasonic 850 Gold

Case: N.A.

Operating System & Version: N.A.

GPU Drivers: N.A.
Chipset Drivers: N.A.
Background Applications: N.A.

Description of Original Problem:
Everything is new.
After jumping the power button, the fan rotates. But CPU and DRAM troubleshooting LED comes on. No display output.
This stayed for several minutes.

Then I updated the bios to the newest version using the flash update tool. No errors there.
And the Mainboard should be 8000 compatible anyway.

Now I am at a loss. If someone has a tipp what we overlooked. That would be great.

CPU cable and 20 Pin Mainboard cable connected.
(CPU with the 4+4 8 pin connector. Not the 6+2 one)

CPU is installed.
No bent pin.
Right corner aligned.
With cooler

1x 16GB DIMM Stick in B2 Slot.
(Both stick tested, other slots tested)

Mainboard doesn't have any visible scratches.

A brand new build has to go through RAM training. This can be a slow process. Give it sometime and wait until the BIOS screen shows up. Remember a blank drive doesn't have any driver on it. So getting to the BIOS screen is going to be slow. There really is no magic number on when it will display.

Thank you for the clarification.

Is there an ballpark how long I should wait?

Around 10 minute or could it be up to 1 hour?

I have tried just waiting a bit but not sure if it's sufficient.

So what's the point I should consider the possibility that either the MB or memory controller of the CPU is broken?

RAM training can take awhile. AMD motherboards can be slow during the process. I cannot really give an actual number. Just let it sit there and wait.

With the 4060 Ti removed from the PC?

Have you tried DP?

Thank you for the idea.

Yes the 4060 wasn't installed in the beginning.

DP was tested but also did nothing.

I mean when the CPU and DRAM led are on, I don't expect the video port to make a difference.

Yep, wait 30 minutes with AM5.

It's silly, but that's how long it can take.

I'm shocked a consumer platform was ever released in such a terrible state. AMD really hasn't gotten adequate flack for their ram training problems, and since it's not nearly as bad on the Intel LGA 1700 platform it's not just a ddr5 issue it's an AMD specific issue.

You'd think the motherboard vendors, Prebuilts companies, etc would all be angry at AMD over this because I'm sure this has led to an increase in RMAs and tech support calls.
