Need help selecting a budget GPU.

So I'm building a new desktop as my secondary machine, while my laptop will be the primary. I'm almost done selecting parts. I'm just stuck at selecting a gpu. I'm stuck between gtx1650 and rx580. Since these are the only cards available in my country for about  $150 bucks, while the more capable rtx3050 6gb variant is priced at $350 in my country. Should I go with the more capable older card without driver support or the newer less capable card with driver support. Also please  note that this is my secondary pc and I can play all the games I want on my laptop as well. I also don't mind upgrading my gpu again in about a year or two.

Don't get that scam 3050 6GB for $350, ain't worth even half of that!!!

budget?

country?

usecases?

other cards available?

580 and 1650 for 150$ is ridicolous as thats nearing used 6700xt pricing where i live (~170-180$ here in indo) and quite abit over a 5700xt (~90$) which still performs much better than a 1650 or rx 580

if the 580 is an 8gb id just pick it assuming its literally the only option as itll be faster than a crappy 1650 whilst having more vram

I'm actually in the process of doing a bit of a budget build myself and I'm aiming for the RX 7600XT. It's capable of 60+fps 1440p, has 16GB VRAM and is in the same ball-park, in terms of price, as the RTX 3050 6GB.

7600xt might even be more overpriced where op lives

also is this a 500$ build or something? you can build a ~500$ rig with a 6700xt and 5600(x) with a mix of used and new (used = 5600(x) 6700xt case and optionally used rm850x or equivalent) and thatd blow away the 7600xt in perf

heres a reference

perf comparisons for 6700xt and 7600xt

Appreciate the feedback but this is not my thread.

i figured why not since i happened to have an existing pcpp reference cause someone was asking for help on a 500$ build

but damn 7600xt same price as the 3050 where you live? usually theyre closer in price to the 7700xt and 7800xt rather than the 3050

forgot to mention but this thing is just pathetic

and this is the non cut down 8gb version

heres the cut down 6gb version which is even worse in perf

if you can spend that much go buy a used card for an equivalent price even a 6700xt should atleast be available for that price if your prices are that outta whack, i mean its not the 6800xt or 3080 most countries would have at that price but atleast its not a pile of crap that isnt much faster than an old polaris card for over double the price

in my country

does your country have a used market worth using? if yes, happy hunting! if no then maybe check intel ark(drivers are mostly fine now, there are like 20 games you have to look out for but other than that games just work now) and price on ark fluctuates on them more than other cards

then maybe consider a amd apu for your cpu and not getting a GPU in the mean while (am4 has some good cheap ones)
