Spend the extra money on  a better gpu or even sli/xfire.

there is always a way to upgrade other components instead, a core i7-4770K should be enough for years of HD ultra gaming...boost your GPU or get the best PSU you can get or go fancy on the case and watercooling instead if you have left over money or get a 500GB SSD to install your games...if you do other CPU heavy tasks (encoding, rendering etc,) then it could be justified.
