Hello,

I manage a large sized business and I'm suspicious that some hardware has been taken by an employee and possibly on sold. The machine(s) are HP mini PCs - specifically HP Elite Mini 800 G9's.

Is there any way to track these devices online by their serial number or BIOS or anything?

I appreciate I might be asking a question with an obvious answer - it's something we have no idea where to start

Enroll the devices with an MDM.

They usually have a way to track machines. But that generally also requires some form of hardware support, like a GPS.

Some devices can guess their location by nearby Wi-Fi networks. But this is usually best-effort and not guaranteed to work.

did the device have a firmware lock, admin password or software installed for remote access?

If the device did they may not have being able to wipe the device to sell it, if it got wiped first though.

You could contact HP if the device was purchased directly from HP they often have there software install when you install Windows they may be able to track down info if you have the serial numbers of the devices but i wouldn't count on HP being useful at all.
