temps go up to 90c when opening apps or seeing videos on youtube 

 

when idle temps are 55c

Its a fairly old laptop. Change the thermal paste. Keep in mind that these run hot either way. But 55c idle is a little high

Like 4 months back changed it 

Should I change it again 

I think 4 months is not too long

Nope but are you sure you did a good job and tightened the screws enough?

You have to find out what is normal temperature before you can come to any logical conclusions. ThinkPads do run hot.

Looked online 

Idle temp should be between 35-45c

 

Games or intensive application.55-65

 

But my case idle is high,

 if running games or intensive application it is near 80-90

That seem unrealistic from my experience. Also what games can you really play on a x280? My T14 gen 1 for example runs up to 95C while running fairly light loads. Its an office PC.

So well just replace thermal paste and tight up the heatsink 

That's the only thing we can do right?

 

Apart for that tired to reinstall windows 11

Still same temps
