First Time builder.

Go to solution Solved by OddOod,

Welcome to the forums!
Looks pretty solid, though I'd swap the SSD to a Crucial P3 Plus. It's cheaper and from a more reliable company.
I will also plug my favorite case: the Phanteks P400 Digital. Usually ~75$, though I've gotten some as cheap as 45. And not only are they an absolute dream to build n, but the customer support is spectacular (I've had to contact them to buy additional parts before and they were a breeze to work with)

Budget (including currency): 2000 USD after tax

Country: United States

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Gaming in general. I like to play a lot of everything, school, and some amp sims so I can play guitar quietly in my apartment.

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc):

I've been researching parts for a few weeks, and wouldn't mind input from someone more experienced. I'm currently coming from a Predator Helios Neo 16 and its played most games I've thrown at it but I believe what I've put together below should be a superior system. I already have a mouse that I like atm. I believe I've put together a pretty good bang for buck set up but, like I said, I'm new, and certainly could use some help. Thanks 🙂

Welcome to the Forums, @que_427! The build is pretty solid. Looks good to me. It is a pretty good bang for the buck, especially the microcenter deal. If you need help with building the PC, let us know in the forums!

Make sure to mark solutions, as it helps us find people who need help faster. Thanks!

I am human and am therefore prone to error, so I apologize if I make mistakes and I hope you understand.

Have a Nice Day!

This is a decent list indeed.

I myself use the 7700x in the ASUS TUF B650 PLUS WIFI and I have done so since it released. No issues to report, its been smooth as silk.

You do not need extra thermal paste, the Peerless Assassin 120SE comes with a tube of its own, its plenty good enough too.

It's good, but you could save $60 on a cheaper 7900GRE (Powercolor 3 fans), then with only $50 more you can get a 7800X3D ($329)

I've mostly went with the montech because it has 4 140mm fans included and Ill definitely swap the ssd. It was originally in my cart but i wanted the better speeds. but reliability is probably better

I thought about that but I have a microcenter bundle and the 7800x3d plus a motherboard would put me over budget 😕

Unless you have a VERY specific usecase that relies on speed, even a SATA SSD is fast enough. Nearly nothing will saturate it.
