Just for Lols I got a molex splitter from the garage and now I have a cool hdd.


I also found another splitter

 

EDIT: I also have an IDE (this uses IDE) HDD that i opened up, and i saw it run without the cover in this thing! BUT IT WAS LOUD!!! EDIT Jr. : It's a WD 800

I use to always buy maxtor drives although i have read since then they were known to have a high failure rate but they always were good drives to me lol.

 

Did the enclosure not have a fan in it? I think half of the enclosures I have use fans but  they still tend to run hot

I can understand that. Not much to do with ide drives these days other then play with them lol. I have 13 3.5" ide hard drives and 2 2.5" ide drives just setting around doing nothing
