Yes. Get a 5700X3D or 5800X3D. You can easily check the bottleneck by monitoring the GPU usage.

I would say yes, you are.

The 3900x is a fast CPU but it can't compete with the 5800X3D or 7800X3D.

Even a Ryzen 7600x would be a good upgrade.

 5800x3D would be the much better gaming CPU. Since you  bought a 1000$ GPU you should at least be using the best cpu on the platform for the gpu.

 

At 4k the Difference becomes less for the average FPS, but the minimums do get brought up quite a bit and would help with frame drops and such.

5800X3D if you don't have the budget to upgrade to AM5.

 

7800X3D, B650 mobo and DDR5 6000MT/s CL30 RAM (32GB should be enough unless you need more for some productivity) for if you can afford it.

I've gotten to know some stuff, but am far from omniscient, so don't take my advice as gospel and wait for other opinions - I just like throwing in my two cents when I can.

I wish more people knew how to use Intel PresentMon. Its simple GPU Busy vs. Frametime graph can show you in real time exactly when your GPU is being limited (either by your CPU, game engine, etc..)

 

Visual feedback, no guessing.

Recently I have been playing COD, Fortnite, Rust, and Lethal Company all games have major frame drops when I turn and on lethal company after about thirty minutes my monitor flashes white and black and restarts my PC so Im guessing thats from the graphics card

The 5700X3D/5800X3D perform similarly to a Ryzen 7600 or 7700, and those are drop-in updates - you'd keep the motherboard and RAM.

That PSU being 5 years old is probably better than most PSU-s new. If it's not faulty, age has nothing to do with it, and it's not too weak either.

No, there's not enough difference on 4K to justify a 7800X3D+motherboard+DDR5 over a 5700X3D or 5800X3D. Maybe if you were to get a 4090...

honestly, it dpeends what MB, as some might drop the older CPU support if it's too cheap and doesn't have big enough memory to keep all of the configs in.

not all MB lose older gen CPU support on higher BIOS version, high-end ones don't at least, depends on the MB
