Question regarding Office activation.

Probably should ask this on Mi****oft's forums, but they take over a day to reply.

On a new laptop purchase, I vaguely remember that to activate M$ Office, we had to login into a Mi****oft account, and the subscription was activated. Today, if I want to re-install office or install it on another machine, I just go to that M$ account and under the subscriptions section I can see the product key that was linked back then.

How do repair centers activate M$ Office? I am on a refurbished machine, and when it was bought, it was said that it had a lifetime M$ Office subscription. Because of problems, Windows was re-installed multiple times, and now I don't even have it installed. I vaguely remember the first time Office was opened, it asked to active it by signing into a M$ account. Now I don't remember if that happened or not.

Now how would I go about activating M$ Office? When the other laptop was bought new, how did Office just ask to sign in to a M$ account and the activation was done?

PLEASE MARK COMMENTS AS SOLUTION IF SATISFIED!!

bigger number better, makes me look cooler.

There are a lot of office products and different licensing methods so without specific its really hard to help here.

What version? Was this the 365 subscription one, or something like office 2021 which has a permanent license? I don't ever remember seeing a office 365 perpetual license for sale.

My guess was its tied to the hardware ID or the install ID. Ive bought laptops with office before and it seems like how it works.

If your having a issue with your specific copy of office, give their support a call.

I don't think that it was 365. Maybe like 2019 or something.

Is this a issue with a specific license?

If so, call them, they can help you get the license activated, your much better off calling them here than using their forum.
