There are, quite literally, hundreds of options out there. Why not just go on Newegg, go into the Monitors subcategory, and use Filters for price & such?

Here are the specs you should look for:

1) IPS Panel [Most would agree on this, for picture quality. For competitive or professional gaming, without a care for color reproduction & accuracy, you can go with a good 120Hz+ TN panel]

2) 5ms-8ms or less Response Time - but keep in mind, do research when you've eliminated all but a handful, because that spec is not accurate, per professional testing

3) Low Input Lag - for gaming, this is important and is most commonly associated with 'ghosting'.

4) Some brands I personally recommend for IPS panels: ASUS, Dell, LG & Samsung (PLS, mostly). Those are the top 4 for IPS, again per my opinion. Some other good models are from: HP, AOC and Acer.

5) For 1080p, I would go with up to a ~24", especially with a triple-monitor setup. Not only will a 1080p resolution look better on a 23"-24" over say, a 27" - but also depending on the distance you are sitting, you won't have to break your neck to enjoy the surround experience.
