Hi does anyone here know if I can use my PSU pcie cable

-from a FSP Hydro G pro 750w (80plus gold)

-to a FSP Hydro PTM Pro 750w (80plus platinum)

Thanks

I found this. This very likelý as they're are the same brand. https://www.ensourced.net/modular-cable-compatibility-chart/

I'm assuming your Hydro G Pro died and you bought the PTM Pro as a replacement?

I haven't been able to find any official information. Even CableMod doesn't have off-the-rack kits for FSP power supplies, they're only available through the configurator.

Can FSP support tell you?

Do you have a multimeter? Both power supplies should come with cables, so you can always beep them out with the meter in continuity mode to make sure they have the same pinout. It's tedious, but if support can't help you it may be the only way.

I sold my soul for ProSupport.

it's more like a friend of mine who has a PTM Pro threw away the box together with the extra cables. And just today he bought a new GPU that needs 3 8pin connectors. the old gpu only needed 1 8pin so.

as for the hydro G pro, I have that right now and have the extra cable. I'm wondering if I can just give it to him since ordering a new cable will be next to impossible in our country. not to mention, very expensive.

I have reached out to FSP support too but I'm not too keen on their "timely" response.

I also asked FSP support if i can use the hydro g cables for my old FSP Aurum Xilenser lol. It's still working and I might use it with the old gpu I got from my friend.

Yes FSP makes there own PSU's and is OEM for other venders. The chart above show that the two you've mentioned is compatible.

Ah dang it. Looks like I have to buy a new psu 😔

I really liked the fanless feature of it too so I was hoping to make use of it. I guess a cheap 80plus bronze will do in the meantime

Thanks for pointing it out. 🙏
