Budget (including currency): 2400 eur

Country: Czech Republic

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Split between games and WebBrowsing and Programming. I lie to myself that I am a gamer, but I mostly play online games with friends like WoW, DotA2 and SC2. Occasionally I like to try some AAA titles, I've played Witcher3, Assasin'sCreed BlackFlag and most recently Baldur's Gate 3.

Other details There are no PC shops near me, so I will order everything through big local shop that delivers to me, alza.cz, which is why some choices might be limited.
From reading through different posts here, some YT benchmarks and etc, I've gotten the impression that the budget of 2400 eur is most likely extremely overkill for my needs, as these are mostly light weight games. However, I have this budget currently, and I don't know if or when will I be able to spend on my PC again, so I'd like to get something that might as well last some time.
I have a 32" slightly curved monitor, so it's a little higher resolution than standard 24".
I would also like to buy all parts new, I had bad experience with used, and if everything is bought through alza it will assemble the PC for me, and add 3 years warranty on top of it.

Thank you for taking the time to help!

It's mostly hobby stuff, I have a dedicated work laptop. So something like PyCharm, DockerHub, some web dev in Chrome etc. Since I have a big monitor, I often have it split into 2/3 sections, each with its own web browsers and a few tabs.

This should be a good balance between price, gaming performance and programming performance

For light hobby stuff and somewhat light games, I don't think you need to go bleeding edge, just get the average, fat trimmed parts that are great value for money. We can still play around with this build just as adding more fans to case, getting a more cohesive look. Extra 2TB SSD for all the games you could need. Plenty of budget left over:

Wow! Both of you guys came up with very similar builds, and it's like 1/2 of my budget. It really doesn't make sense to invest more in it? Will it be diminishing returns?
On the other hand, I'd rather spend a few 100 euros more today, than have to think about buying a new component in 1-2 years.
So maybe I'd invest just a little more in the CPU and GPU, and the other stuff can be more on the lower-mid-range spectrum?

I was initially looking at the 4070 Ti Super and wasn't sure between the 7950x3d or 7800x3d. However, from your comments it seems to be unnecessary?

Moreso, the games youre playing arent super intensive, so the extra 100 quid will get you an equivalent amount more performance, but getting something like 500 vs 650 fps in DOTA2 just seems unnecessary/redundant if you get me

Few changes based on taking some of @venomtail's suggestion too

With my configuration, I've sort of already invested the extra 100 into better future upgradability parts.

An ATX motherboard if you ever need to expand to thicker cards or add new parts.

PSU with new 12VHPWR connector for future cards.

B650 motherboard to hopefully have better chances of new CPU support years down the line.

Case that should be easy to build in, have good airflow and look good years later.

Yes, 7800X3D is the best gaming CPU but in such light titles (arguably simply not heavy titles) there's less importance on the CPU. If you were a dedicated eSports player or simulations, or needed the fastest then sure, that CPU is a great choice. The 4070TI is also a good card but simply less value for money than what AMD offers, and the extra features they offer (Basically only better ray tracing performance) isn't something that outweighs the cost savings for me.

Thank you all for the suggestions. I am convinced that it doesn't make a lot of sense to spend the whole budget, especially for my use case.
Despite that, I still want to beef up the CPU and GPU somewhat, and landed on these two. I like the idea of having a 12 Core CPU for multi-tasking etc, but I am a little worried that it has it's own stock cpu cooler? Is that really OK? Or should I get a dedicated cooler for it?
I think the MoBo wasn't compatible, so I picked this slightly more expensive one with really good reviews and options to upgrade, as the budget is not tight.
Also, is the case big enough? I keep reading about airflow being important, and how some cases are like an oven, while others are OK.

Does this make sense? Or am I better off getting the 7900X or 7950X with a dedicated CPU cooler?

Thanks again!
