I overclocked my cpu last night, but just a little bit. I took it from 3.5 GHz to 4.2GHz, with stock voltages. I ran prime 95 from about 2:00 till 11:15ish, and it came out with no errors, and the max temp it got to was 52.6C. Are these good numbers? Is my cpu suppposed to constantly run at 4.2GHz or will it change based on what I'm doing like it did before?

Don't use Prime95 for haswell (in case your CPU is haswell) it can cause voltage spikes. Otherwise those are outstanding numbers. If all you did was bump the multiplier up, your CPU should still have all the power saving features enabled. Check in CPU-Z if clock goes down to something like 799MHz on idle.
