Hey everyone my birthday is coming up soon and I'm thinking about upgrades, it's coming 1 year of my PCs life and while some would not upgrade my PC is well a pre-built, I know I KNOW their overpriced etc, etc, please I don't need to be told anymore I have learned a lot since I got my FIRST computer.

With that out of the way, I have some questions on what I should upgrade, what I want and what would YOU pick?

Below I will list my current PC setup and might even take some pics and then I will post my current ideas for upgrades.

And finally I AM NOT looking to overclock, so non overclockable hardware is fine, so the non-K versions of intel, or non OC Motherboreds are fine for me, just as long as I have the base functions, USB3.0 etc,

Exact PC before upgrades: http://h20566.www2.hp.com/portal/site/hpsc/template.PAGE/public/kb/docDisplay/?spf_p.tpst=kbDocDisplay&spf_p.prp_kbDocDisplay=wsrp-navigationalState%3DdocId%253Demr_na-c03639067-7%257CdocLocale%253D%257CcalledBy%253D&javax.portlet.begCacheTok=com.vignette.cachetoken&javax.portlet.endCacheTok=com.vignette.cachetoken

Upgraded~

SSD Boot Drive: 120GB Samsung 840 EVO

GPU: GTX 750 Ti 2GB EVGA SC

Windows 7 64bit

---Recommended preferences---

Motherbored: Notes- Asus only, AM3+ or LGA1150 ( my current AMD FX 6350 or an intel i5 ?)

RAM: I would like 16GBs of 1600MHz either 4x4 or 2x8

CPU: keep the AMD FX 6350 or i5 ?

HDD: Hybrid drive for games? I don't know much about hybrids.

Case: I would love to go with the NZXT 410 Phantom black. and it's my planned next upgrade however the de-construction of my PC without manuals scares me a bit.

PSU: Highest GPU i'll go to would be the 870 (which is planned to be maxwell based) so no higher than 700WAT, 80+ silver and up, Semi-modular ideal.

It has a 6200 right? I would recommend exactly what you have but if you can, get a new case and possibly better PSU. I wouldn't spend my time upgrading the CPU or the ram right now.

How much do you want to spend on upgrades?

AMD FX 6350 Vishera 3.9GHz 4.1 boost

Well that's the thing I would love to buy a cheapo PSU and get a 760 but i'm resisting the urge for the 760 ti which will I pray, be maxwell. (i'm a big "green" person lol)

price I would say 250$ not including tax, and shipping (300 total with that)

The HP desktop has 1.5 TB already

If you're primarily gaming, I would get an SSD, a new GPU and upgrade your PSU for future upgrades. The rest of the system is good and the case will suffice for now. If you can get your hands on a Hyper 212 EVO, I would do that.

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant / Benchmarks

Power Supply:  EVGA 600B 600W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply  ($49.99 @ Newegg)

Not bad, actually the HDD is a segate barracuda 2TB, and i added a 120GB samsung 840 evo,

GPU: i WILL NOT go back to AMD god please no .... I love shadowplay way to much and it runs so much better then my last R7 260.

PSU: it's only bronze ...and non-modular but for 50$ that's good thank you =)

Case>MOBO>PSU.

I'd suggest the core 1000, or the cougar spike. Both are good just personal preference in style.

MOBO I would stick with a decent AM3+ for right now but keep it cheap so you don't feel bad about upgrading.

I'd suggest ASUS M5A78L-M/USB3 AM3+

and for the PSU Probably the corsair CX500M 500 watts semi modular just all around good powersupply.

Also might want to grab an extra fan as both of those cases only come with 1. Core 1000 has 1 in front cougar has 1 in back.

the PSU and cases are good upgrades that should last you awhile no matter what you build into them and the MOBO is cheap so you wont feel bad about replacing it if you feel like upgrading to a future unknown platform but still good enough to last you if you decide to keep it for awhile.

Then yeah I'd hold on till intel/AMD releases new CPUs and new nvidia/AMD GPUs to decide how/when you want to upgrade : )

My Rig "Corsair air 540, MSI Z87-G45, i5 4670k, EVGA ACX 780, Gskill sniper 2x8gb 1866 memory, Corsair CX500m modular 80+ bronze, corsiar h100i, toshiba 1.5tb HDD." / Peripherals "Acer H226HQLbid Black 21.5" (Main monitor), Acer S200HLAbd Black 20" (auxiliary), Razer blackwidow ultimate 2013, razer naga 2013, razer goliathus 444x355 speed edition, Sennheiser HD8 DJs"

Verry good choices, My only question would be is 500WAT enough for a stronger GPU latter on? Right now my PSU is 460, 40 extra ehh I don't get it but maybe that's enough idk should I go for the 500 or 600 ? I plan to run only 1GPU an SSD and HDD

as for fans i'll strip some from mine, i already have a heatsink and i think 3 total 120mm fans.

With how power efficient graphics cards are getting as of late especially from the green camp i'm sure 500 watts is more then enough for a single GPU setup, But of course we can't really tell the future. A GTX 860 or 870 might be a power hungry beast of a GPU. so if you want to err on the side of caution I'd suggest something like the EVGA supernova 650watt.
