Elevator access card

Go to solution Solved by Needfuldoer,

Those kinds of key cards are usually just simple RFID tags. The ones my company uses don't fall in the same frequency range that most smartphones can handle.

Hey! So recently we acquired a new building and it has elevator, and the previous owner had it so that it only runs using access cards. Now i was wondering how does this work? does it rely on nfc technology? and is there a way i can use my phone instead as it's got nfc. As of now I need to carry this physical card at all times to be able to use the elevator which is pretty annoying. I’m sharing a photo of this card, hoping someone knowledgeable can help me out

We use those same cards at work for our clock in and clock out.

A lot of us just keep the card between our phones and phone cases.

I'm not actually trying to be as grumpy as it seems.

I will find your mentions of Ikea or Gnome and I will /s post.

you may be able to clone it using something like nfc tools on android but as @Needfuldoer said that might not work at all. and from my own experiences it's worth trying but don't expect it to work, I've only ever managed to clone a couple of hotel keycards I've had. something like a flipper zero probs could do it better.
