Currently i have an RX 7800 XT paired with a gigabyte ds3hb ddr4, and an i5 12400

do i stay with my current MOBO, and upgrade to a 13600k [ive heard from certain sources that my mobo will limit the performance] - $280 upgrade

or do i buy an am5 mobo, ddr5, and switch to a ryzen 5 7600x. please let me know the smartest move - $410 upgrade

Currently you shouldn't touch a 13th and 14th gen Intel CPU with a 10 feet pole. That is unless you want unstable system and frequent errors. The AM5 switch is by far the safest option, just wait 2 weeks till they launch the 9000 series CPUs, cause they look to be monsters again with even more incredible efficiency.
