Hi Everyone,

I have seen that there are now some Haswell Refresh Chips out none that are Unlocked version yet tho.

For my up coming build I am planning on getting a 4770K and now that there are the Haswell Refresh Chips out I was planning on getting that.

I have a Asus Maximus VI Board, I have already bought that.

I have read that the new Haswell Refresh Chips have a new thermal contact from the head spreader and the Die, Can someone confirm if that is true

And will my mother board be able to use that the new Haswell refresh chips with a BIOS update

Kind Regards

Utkarsh Anand

So better cooling?

Theoretically. The improved TIM means it will be better at getting heat away from the die. However, if for some reason the refresh also outputs more heat, it could be a wash. We just have to wait and see.
