My pc is currently frozen, but i dont know why recently its been stuttering a lot and being really slow for the past few weeks. I open task manager and i see most of my ram is being used up (70 when im doing what i consider light and 99% when im doing something intense) but i decided to ignore the issue and not diagnose it properly.

The thing is my pc used to be able handle my usual work flow and many tabs before with no noticeable issues.

I currently have 16gb of ddr5 ram. As im writing this post my pc is completely frozen and I had open 5 windows, a few tabs, adobe acrobat with a few docs, the webapp version of microsoft word with a few docs, youtube and chat gpt. Please see the image attached.

I cant check right now but is it really just firefox simply eating up all my ram or is it something else?

If it’s a ram issue how much should I upgrade to?

What does task manager say is using most of your RAM? I'd have gone with 32GB personally, 16GB can be pushing it.

Something isn't normal here, what you're doing should use less than 12GB if not 10, I have like 12  tabs open + some software and uses 11

So you may have some virus, bad RAM, whatever

Do some serious antivirus and windows diagnostics

AMD R9  7950X3D CPU/ Asus ROG STRIX X670E-E board/ 2x32GB G-Skill Trident Z Neo 6000CL30 RAM ASUS TUF Gaming AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX OC Edition GPU/ Phanteks P600S case /  Arctic Liquid Freezer III 360 ARGB cooler/  2TB WD SN850 NVme + 2TB Crucial T500  NVme  + 4TB Toshiba X300 HDD / Corsair RM850x PSU/ Alienware AW3420DW 34" 120Hz 3440x1440p monitor / ASUS ROG AZOTH keyboard/ Logitech G PRO X Superlight mouse / Audeze Maxwell headphones

I use MalwareBytes, seems to be amongst the best and less intrusive one around
