Hey,

I'm using a pair of sony wh xm4 with my pc and i'm having strange issues.

I think it all started maybe a month after i first used the headset. There's two (maybe different) issues, the first one is that if I go a bit to far, the sound start glitching (as it should if i'm out of range) but what's strange is that the headset isn't disconnected from my pc, it just sit in a kind of limbo between connected and disconnected that won't fix itself unless i either reboot the headset or turn off and on the bluetooth on my pc. That's the less anoying issue as i can simply not go too far.

The worst one is that sometimes, when i plug my controller in my pc, or when i connect it (it's also bluetooth), the headset will enter this same limbo state where I need to reboot it or the bluetooth. I have 2 controllers, my main one (a gulikit kingkong 2 pro) and a spare one (a no name switch like controller that's wireless but the wireless is broken so i only use it plugged and only if my main one is broken like right now).

With my main one, the limbo state appear when I connect it wirelesly, but way less often if i connect it before starting my game (if i start the game first it's almost guarenteed).

With the spare one, it just doesn't matter, if i plug it, it's limbo, but unplugging it is fine.

Also, when the headset enters limbo state, if i'm in a game, it seems to always lag the crap out of it, like making it go to 5-10 fps (I have a 4080 and a ryzen 7800X3D so obviously, not normal stuff). I don't know if it's the right topic for this kind of issues, if not don't hesitate to tell me ^^.

Useful informations:
- My wifi/bluetooth adapter is a TP-Link Archer T5E: https://www.tp-link.com/fr/home-networking/adapter/archer-t5e/
- I'm not far at all from the antennas, like maybe one meter at most
- I tried updating the bluetooth driver using the latest version provided on the TP-Link website, didn't change anything

Update: I'm now getting some weird crackling issues on top of everything else. I tried switching the motherboard USB header so i'll switch it back, but maybe my card is simply dying (which don't really surprise me as it is quite old and from what i've seen, use a crappy intel chip)

I'd maybe try a cheap USB bluetooth adapter if you have the spare cash and/or USB port. Here's one I've been using for years w/o issues (granted I don't use a controller at this PC with my bluetooth earbuds)

The problem is that i don't really have spare cash x). Like i'm prepared and ok with buying a new wireless card if it's just my current one being bad/broken, but buying an adapter just to sanity check, not really 😞
