Something like the Android Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 Lite is not too expensive and offers email, internet, ebooks, audiobooks, etc. Since it's an open platform one isn't restricted to a particular content vendor.

The Libby app can provide easy access to e and audio books through local libraries and content vendors.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.

Honestly, an external speaker is the way to go. Grab something like the JBL Charge, hook up via bluetooth. Then, when she wants to listen simply turn on the speaker and it will automatically connect.

Audible is the defacto standard for audiobooks. Pricey, but easy. $15/m gives you one audiobook credit a month.

Spotify premium is another option. Don't have to purchase books outright, but limited selection.

I know that local libraries also offer a digital audiobook rental option, but I've personally never used this. Could be worth looking into.
