Quite often I get lines that flash on my screen like you see if you have digital cable and what not distortion lines (or whatever you want to call them) It's random when it happens but it happens enough to make it very annoying. It seems to be with my luck with HDMI cables. I have been through so many of them over the course of 4 years. The cables have not been abused or improperly used either. It just seems like they just deteriorate over time to me. I don't know what it is but this can't be normal can it? Are HDMI cables this flimsy?

HDMI is shit, this isn't uncommon. Doubly so if you're running 4K 120 w/ HDR and VRR. Reseat the cable on both ends. If that doesn't permanently do the trick, replace the cable.

I've never had an issue with cables going bad.  I've used the same cable on my monitor for over 3 years now.  (Since I got the monitor)

I must have THE worst luck with HDMI Cables then. This cable is highly rated and in 10 months of normal use it starts having problems.... They do offer a 18 month warranty but the price I would have to pay in return shipping doesn't seem worth it to get a replacement.

It is an annoyance that TVs don't support DP. I also went through trying different cables until I found ones that seemed to work. Haven't noticed any longer term degradation other than one cable that seemed to work fine when cold, but the end going in GPU gets hot after a while then it stops working.
