So I'm going to be putting a new pc together. I'm just wondering what new power delivery I would need for a new 9950x with a 5090? Ik we don't exactly know the tdp of the 5090 or anything was thinking a 1300w power supply just wanted some input thanks.

Seasonic lists GeForce RTX 5090 with 500W TDP and RTX 5080 with 350W, as for the 9950X, AMD says 170W, realistically a 1000W would be more than enough with headroom, and without spending way more money on a 1300W

I just want to make sure I get one that will work because. I'm going to get the motherboard, cpu, power supply, and ram first then get the gpu when they come out later this year or early next.

Also what brand of power supply would you get? I like evga but idk if there one of the best anymore.

Don't buy PC parts over time. Return windows close, warranties get shorter, prices go down, and all you get for it is a bunch of useless hardware you can't use until the final parts arrive.

As with literally any other purchase, don't buy based on a brand by brand basis, but based on the exact product in question. Afaik, none of EVGA's current PSUs have multi rail OCP, so I wouldn't recommend any of their higher wattage PSUs. Same with PSUs from other brands that lack multi rail OCP.

Any meaningful PSU recommendations will depend on where you're buying from, what you're powering, and what your own priorities are. E.g. how important is noise, custom cable availability, hold up time if using with a UPS/frequent brownouts, aesthetics, connectors etc.

:)

Brand is only one part of the equation, there's meh Seasonic PSU and very good ones too

How much are you willing to pay ? The cheapest good one is the BQ PP12 recommended by @podkall, then you can get more expensive Corsair RMx (Shift if the side cabling suits you), then Platinum rated Corsair HX, TT  Toughpower, BQ SP, Seasonic Prime... More expensive ones aren't worth the cost after that imo

AMD R9  7950X3D CPU/ Asus ROG STRIX X670E-E board/ 2x32GB G-Skill Trident Z Neo 6000CL30 RAM ASUS TUF Gaming AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX OC Edition GPU/ Phanteks P600S case /  Arctic Liquid Freezer III 360 ARGB cooler/  2TB WD SN850 NVme + 2TB Crucial T500  NVme  + 4TB Toshiba X300 HDD / Corsair RM850x PSU/ Alienware AW3420DW 34" 120Hz 3440x1440p monitor / ASUS ROG AZOTH keyboard/ Logitech G PRO X Superlight mouse / Audeze Maxwell headphones

What would the 10 year warranty do just if it goes out get new one

if it goes out, they give you money back, or send you new one

Wait for reviews before doing anything is my opinion.

speculative buying could be a waste of money if it’s not an appropriate purchase and the return window will have expired.
