Budget (including currency): ~$4500 AUD

Country: Australia

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Destiny 2, Star Wars Outer Worlds, (whatever interests me really), Adobe animate, Premier Pro, Media Encoder, Audition, InDesign,

Other details

I currently have a system that is around 6 years old and recently got into animation (which I'm rubbish at, but really enjoying).  However, adobe animation is quite sluggish on my system and when I went to add sound (after using audition and running around the house capturing sounds - which is not as easy as you think to come up with sounds that sound half decent and appropriate), I tried to add the sound to my video.  The video kept disappearing and I realised, after a bit, that I needed to close every single programme I had open and edit small sections at a time.  It was time, my comp was telling me, for an upgrade.  As for gaming, I was happy enough to just turn the settings down, and I have an old 2070 super which I'm fine keeping for bit longer and will upgrade in the next 12 months.

Case wise - Fractal North XL - black mesh - I only ever build every few years, so have to re-teach myself, so like a bit of room

Cooling - Air cooling - Will go with Noctua DH15 and fans

Monitor - Samsung Odyssey G7 32 QLED 240Hz (have it currently and happy with it)

CPU - I was going to go with a Intel Core i7 14700K Processor as it was mid for gaming and good at editing and hopefully for animation etc.  However, is that one of the problem chips?

Motherboard - Gigabyte Z790 Aorus Elite AX DDR5 Motherboard - had decent reviews

RAM - Corsair Vengeance 64GB (2x32GB) 6200MHz CL32 DDR5 (went for these as they were low profile) or G.Skill Trident Z5 64GB (2x32GB) 6000MHz CL30 DDR5 Black (not really into RGB on my personal system, although I like it on others, and wasn't sure if this would be low profile enough)

HDD - I have never built with NVMe -  I like to have things compartmentalised in my computer for some reason (I've had to do a clean install of the OS before and it's just easier if I have a drive dedicated).  I like a HDD dedicated to the OS, a HDD dedicated to gaming (normally these two are the fast drives and I spend a little more on) and then had a couple of larger mechanical drives for general files and stuff.  Although I suppose like anything drives age, so I wouldn't mind (over time) popping in a SSD for my animation and separate for all the other stuff, including photos etc.

Samsung 990 PRO M.2 NVMe SSD 1TB - OS

Samsung 990 PRO M.2 NVMe SSD 2TB - Gaming

Eventually - 2x SDD (animation and other stuff drive)

Power - Seasonic Vertex ATX 3.0 80 Plus Platinum 1000W

Thanks for your help.

Hi...

I think I can really help here. First off PLEASE PLEASE don't use any HDDs if you don't have to. They are so outdated and the newer M.2 Drives are so much faster and better for your needs and your PCs needs.

This PC Build List has everything you need even a new GPU since you said that your Budget was $4500 and I kept it under $3800, why limit yourself of you don't have to and the new GPU is a very BIG improvement over the 2070. It's the 4070 Ti Super 16GB Version which will allow you to play your Games up to 4K Resolution.

The rest of the PC is totally Killer!!! It packs a Intel Core i7 13700K, 64GB of RAM, 1TB M.2 for the OS, 2TB M.2 for Games and a 4TB M.2 for Storage. It has no RGB. A 360mm AIO, Gigabyte Motherboard & GPU, a Case that has 3 140mm Fans Pre-Installed and I added 1 more 140mm Fan for the Front of the PC and 2 120mm Fans for the Top of the PSU Shroud to help Cool off the GPU. The GPU should come with a GPU Sag Bracket but in case it doesn't I added one.

All in all this PC will ROCK YOUR WORLD!!! Have a look & if you have any questions please feel free to reach out.

I have been building PCs for over 30 years so if you have any questions please ask. For Future Communication I use Discord for much Faster Response Times as I have it open 24/7. I am also available if you need help before, during, or after the Build Process on Discord through Text,Voice, or Video Chat. I can be with you while you build your new PC if you need me to be.
