bought 2 new cooler master monitors and they have taped the monitor in 3 sides (out of the box)

the adhesives are no joke, already broke 1 monitor trying to remove them tapes

  1. Try using alcohol and/or heat.

Heat might be difficult. Direct flame or hot air can warp the plastic. Damo paper towel can get moisture trapped in the display

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I need?

I had a similar issue with my monitors when I was setting up my NBA 2K20 PS4 PlayStation Store. Here’s what worked for me:

  1. Warm the Tape: I used a hairdryer on a low heat setting to gently warm the adhesive. This made the glue softer and easier to peel off.

  2. Peel Slowly: I started at one corner and slowly peeled the tape off at a low angle. Pulling too quickly or at a steep angle can damage the screen.

  3. Use a Plastic Tool: For stubborn tape, I used a plastic card (like a credit card) to gently lift the edge and work it off gradually. Avoid anything sharp or metal to prevent scratches.

  4. Adhesive Remover: If there was any sticky residue left, I used a small amount of adhesive remover or rubbing alcohol on a soft cloth. Gently rubbing the area until the residue came off worked well. Just be sure to test a small area first to ensure it doesn’t damage the screen.

  5. Patience is Key: Taking my time and avoiding too much pressure helped prevent any damage.

I hope this helps, and you can safely remove the tape from your monitors!
