Hey guys I recently came into possession of an old pc. I decided to chuck in a 320gb hdd I had lying about and to install windows xp. When installing the first time it blue screened because I had the wrong sata setting. I changed that now it loads up to the installing windows it get to about 35 mins left then blue screens and says down the bottom system dump or something like that. Can anyone help?

Is this PC going to be connected to you local network? 

 

If so I personally would not install XP. As it is no longer supported it has become a large security risk. 

 

If you don't intend to connect it to the internet or your local network it will be fine (providing you can get it to install).
