Hi there guys,

Recently broke my pair of UrBeats earphones and since this is happening every 6 months now I'm sick of the hassle of having to hunt out the warranty on them to get them exchanged over and over again.

I keep trying to find some kind of frequency response graph for them but all I know is that they normally feel bass heavy so I want something that will give a similar experience.

It will need to have a decent connector since I normally have it with my phone in tight jeans so there is a high chance a long connector would break over a short time, tangle free cables would be handy.

I would prefer to have some in line controlls focused on the Apple controls but they will be used with android devices too and finally they have to be sturdy like a full metal housing since they will be heavily used while cycling :P

Sorry it's such a long list but I would be greatful for any help my budget is around £80-£100 ($130-$170)

I think you should look for detachable cable in ears then. How much are Shure SE215 in your area?

They look good at a glance but for when im on my biek I normally have the earphones plugged into an iPad so I need to have some kind of in line audio controlls and an in line microphone for making any kind of calls :l

Do you own a pair of these and do you know if the frequency response is similar to that of the UrBeats?

I'm not very familiar with in line controls on iems but the frequency should be fairly neutral. Anything is better than Beats.

Well monster products have always been ok. They arent the best and i never recommend them but they are not as over priced as beats were. Anything beats I stay far away from. They are essentially $40 pair of headphones that are priced at $300 because of a sticker slapped on the side of them. I suggest you get a pair of these http://www.amazon.com/Shure-SE215-K-Earphones-CBL-M--Remote/dp/B0050L5VO4/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1401145640&sr=8-3&keywords=shure+earphones+se215

I guess I've always been a little drawn in by the asthetics of Beats and Monster, then I've become accustomed to the sound profile of them. Plus I tend to be a little brand loyal and drawn to something I have previous experience with. I used to use Skull Candy  earphones before I switched to beats after getting a pair included with my HTC phone years ago

Thank you, I'm going to take a look at them in detail now, I do like the idea of being able to replace the cable easily with minimal cost but never thought that they would have earphones with a detachable cable on them.

Many Thanks

The only decent monster IEMs were the Turbine coppers.

The rest are only good if you can get them on a good sale. I've currently got a pair of DNA in-ears and Turbine Pros, spent about $45 on each pair with bookstore credit so I'm not too bummed out about price. The DNA are pretty big and soundquality is DECENT and the Turbines break pretty easily and need constant superglue.

I've been concidering the monster inspiration in ear headphones, they are about £100 sterlingn over here, some have had good reviews some have had bad. Although I like the thought if the detachable cables it was a bit expensive for the volume controls and I'm not too sure about the clear plastic appearence of some of the SE215's

I'm also looking and the MIE2's from Bose, I'll come back to the forum later on today if I end up getting the inspirations which is unfortunately likely and let you know how they do

Thanks again to everyone who replied, I love how friendly everyone is on the forum here :3
