As you say, booting with live USB produces same result...

Sometimes kernel panic messages are informative, helps find failing subsystem...

Also you can try update BIOS to latest...

Thank you for you help.  I unplugged the memory stick and plugged it into a different slot, changed SATA cable and disconnected all other devices connected to SATA ports on my motherboard, this has fixed it for now.

Today I switched on my computer and got a kernel panic. I unplugged all USB devices keeping only the monitor connected and got the same thing. I also tried using several different kernels from the GRUB menu but still got kernel panics. I last updated my computer a few weeks ago and after updating everything worked fine until today. I downloaded the latest Linux Mint ISO from their website and burned it to a USB drive, I tried booting a live environment from said USB drive but got kernel panics again (I tried the normal mode and compatibility mode listed in the live USB GRUB menu) so I ran the memory test software included with the Mint ISO (MemTest86+) and got no errors. I can't think of anything I might have done in software to cause this which makes me think that it might be a hardware issue. Any help is appreciated, thank you in advance.
