I just did my first build and it booted up into BIOS no problems, and I could find everything there (so i think)

The hardest part hardware wise was installing the motherboard and fitting the IO shield in the case.

The temperature reading in bios is 37 celc cpu and 31 celc motherboard, is this normal or too high?

now what i thought least expected to be a problem was installing windows... (11)

first of, it kept popping up saying that i had no internet connection so i couldn't even install it.

after doing some googling, i found a command u use in cmd that is oobe to bypass it, which i did

some steps later im in windows, but still no internet.

and the worst part is.. it installed windows on D: drive and made a seperate D: drive just for windows that is only 46 gb size?!?! now why did it do that and how do i prevent it? i dont want to have windows on my D i want it to be on my C as i always have it on every pc ive owned , and i need to know how so i can reinstall it and do it right and avoid same mistake again.

also when selecting disk to install on, there was device 1 or device 2 , and i choose device 1. is device 1 the m.2 slot that is nearest to cpu or is that device 2?

if you're concerned about the letter that is changeable,

if you're concerned about which disk to install Windows, on, just unplug all drives that aren't for Windows, install Windows, after Windows is done, turn off PC and plug all the remaining drives back

i can't really "unplug" them.. as they are m.2 disks and i dont wanna open up and descrew all my parts and motherboard again.. it doesnt matter if i change the D letter to F, G, H, K, Z, i want it to be C and something already is C. and second it dont matter because it is just 46 gb , i dont want it to be either 46 gb either. that is too small to store all files. so why did it do it? i assume its normal then?

is the temps too high?

make the C drive not C drive?

sounds like a re-install problem unless there's a way to re-allocate lest of the disk back to one full thing

i need to know if its normal?

not really normal, but possible to make partitions of drive, try looking up making partitions tutorial, perhaps you'll see the mistake you took there

then nobody knows how it happened? is it possible to split a disk into differnt partitions in bios before install windows?

you should be able to extend the volume of the partition, in the Disk Management

that is a windows program, not BIOS

different instrument, same outcome,

I'm googling these answers, but I also know Disk Management is indeed an actual tool to use for these things

Yes, you need to click on each partition/disk in that menu and click delete, you don't need to use the format button.

I would say boot back to that menu, then click each partition/disk and use the delete button until you can't delete any partitions/disks anymore it should show just the raw unallocated drives you have installed. Select the one you want Windows to be installed on and then click Next. Again, no need to use the format option for anything. Once in Windows again it should show only one drive in file explorer and it should be labeled C: you'll need to then initialize and format your other disks in Disk Management.

As for not having internet once you are in Windows, that is due to Windows not having the WiFi or ethernet drivers "out of the box" for your motherboard. You'll need to get them from the manufacturer website page for your motherboard on a separate computer and transfer the driver installer to the new computer via a USB drive. Then manually install the drivers.

If I click 'delete' on all disk in that menu, will there still be a disk left that I can select to install windows on?

What does format do?

If I want a new disk from buy-from-store-out-of-the-box-never-used what is the way to go to completely reset it so I can try again? (I don't want any files from win11 that there is now on it)

As stated, you Delete ALL Partitions until the drive is all Unallocated Space, then Press the Next Button.

Windows will create partitions and format them Automatically during the Windows install.

This is called a Clean Install.

You have 2 separate Disks (Drives) Drive 0 and Drive 1.

You only want to delete the partitions on Drive 0. Drive 1 is probably a data drive.

After Deleting all partitions on Drive 0 press Next.

Please click the "Thumbs Up" on any volunteer's post to thank them if they helped .(lower left, just to the right of My Computer )

What went wrong the first time i did it?

I don't have a drive called drive 0, I just have a drive 1 and drive 2.
