This is a pretty significant upgrade compared to your PCPP list for the same price

7600X will perform better in games, run cooler and use less power

B650 Gaming plus board is more than adequate

Much faster RAM, right on AMDs sweet spot

A 4070 or better equivalent GPU

A better larger power supply for the slightly more power hungry GPU but also a little room for upgrading should you want to in future

You want a single set of 2x16GB, not two sets of 2x8GB. Skip the thermal paste, most all new cpu coolers include decent thermal paste.

Overall nice, few suggestions:

A regular 13400F would suffice for gaming

Don't buy DDR4 for much of anything in 2024, DDR5-6000 is your friend

Since we're using DDR5, 2 x 16GB is more appropriate

For the same price as this, you can get a Montech X3 Mesh with 6 included fans

You can use Windows without activating, just can't customize it. Note you can activate it unofficially.

Kingston NV2 is not great, I always recommend the TeamGroup MP33.

Drop the thermal compound, the cooler comes with one.

Optional : Get a Thermalright contact frame.

Go DDR5

Get a larger SSD

Avoid the crappy 4060

Better case

Don't buy a $135 windows key

  • 2 weeks later...

the 4060 is great and I don't like the activation watermark and I like personalization and ddr 5 is just too expensive and the SSD is upgraded in the new list and the case is really good and for me 32 gigabytes of ddr 4 is great for now and the future
