PicoMaster
Go to solution Solved by Recon-UK,

You say "decent" what would you suggest that is "good"?

This would be tier 1 A grade quality.

Sometimes when I am playing Battlefield 3, Battlefield 4, Planetside 2, and other games like that my graphics card driver crashes and usually doesn't recover. I am wondering what is going on. Is my graphics card dying? If it is PLEASE help me get a new one.

Add voltage to your card, or re-install drivers freshly like a clean bum.

Would it be caused by my psu being too small?

Possibly, what is it?

Try like "Recon-UK" said, reinstalling your drivers (try beta-driver or an older driver)

You should also try clearing your C-MOS. That helped me, when i had the same problem.

And what GPU are you using??

Its a Thermaltake

By any chance, are you trying to run both BF games on ULTRA with AA applied?

It's not a great unit, can't deliver it's full power, you may want to consider a new one.

mrogicom where are the C-MOS?

CMOS is how your motherboard stores config settings and information about all the hardware plugged into it and how the board retains this information between reboots. Clearing it is similar to clearing your computers cache. Typically, the process for clearing CMOS is such:

1. Power off system and switch the PSU to OFF (Leave it plugged in tho)

2. On the motherboard, look for the RTC battery (its a small flat battery).

3. Near the battery, there is a small set of 3 pins with a block over two of them. It should be labeled "CLRSMOS" or CLR_TC or similar.

4. The jumper block is on pins 1 and 2. (Left to right). To clear CMOS, move the jumper to pins 2-3.

5. Leave block on pins 2-3 for 5-10 seconds

6. Return the block to the default 1-2 position, and turn your PSU back on.

7. Enter the BIOS and load default settings and reboot.

If you are unsure or you can't find the jumper, consult your motherboard manual if you still have it, or google with the phrase "How to clear CMOS on <your motherboard here>".

I am whatever I am.

It is a decent budget option and can deliver it's wattage, yes good choice.

Why is that one better than the Corsair one?

Better components, better ripple control, better 12v stability, better efficiency, the list goes on, PSU's are far more complex than the average person would think.

Alright well you sound like you know what you are talking about. Thank you and I hope this fixes it or it will have been a waste of money.
