i'm currently running a home server with a hardware raid card running 3 hard drivers, as well as a software raid 5 with 3 hard drives.
the reason for this is that my raid card (perc 6/i) only supports drives up to 2 TB. in my software raid i'm running 3 WD RED 3TB drives.
i now want to transfer my server into a SAN/NAS and use the hardware to build a virtualization server. the server is now running a 6 six core processor which is overkill.
i'm planning to buy a asrock e350m1 as a base to run my storage solution. my question is, is it possible to migrate my software raid to a new motherboard without any compatibility issues.
the server is running server 2012 and will run server 2012 on the new motherboard.
