New Home Theatre Setup

I’m looking to create a new Home Theatre for myself.

Plan is to have a best native 4K Projector with best surround sound system.

I was thinking of having the Epson LS12000 or LS11000 combined with the new Bravia Theatre quad and Apple TV 4K, not sure even if I should have the av receiver or which one if any?

or

Epson LS800 with Bravia theatre quad to avoid having complex setup, where there is no need for an av receiver and streaming is possible directly within the projector.

please suggest if there’s any other combination that works.

With home cinema stuff, my personal opinion is the sound is more immersive than the video which is why I tend do invest more on my amp and speakers than I do on the screen.

That being said, a buddy of mine swung past the house the other day with his XGIMI Horizon Ultra and I was very impressed. Once I convince the missus, its going on my shopping list lol.

Sound bars are a good alternative to a complex 7.1.4 or 5.2.2 Atmos system but they really aren't a substitute for a discrete system. My Sonos Bar & Sub are in a secondary living / TV area which I love but I tend not to watch much in the way of movies in this area.

For me, I stick with Yamaha for my AVRs as they have never failed me. My only venture away from them was with a Marantz that broke and got returned. My first yammy was a DSP-A2 from back in the late 90s. That was then replaced with an RX-V1700 and then again with an RX-A2060 and now I have the RX-A6A which I love so 4 amps spanning almost 30 years ain't bad.

For speakers (see my sig), I tend to stick with B&W. At the time I was looking at Kef R-series but advised against pairing them with Yamaha amps so its always good to get advice on speaker / amp pairing.

A good centre and a sub are key as they are the 2 speakers that will give you the most bang / clout.

Some more info would be usefull.

What size of room are you looking to fill?

What is the room shape? Are there any doors / windows in bad places?

What's your budget?

Do you have a speaker layout in mind? 5.1 or 7.2.4.... or more?

Do you have any neighbours?

Concrete or timber floor?

Cheers

Thanks for getting back, below are the details.

Room size 13’ 4” x 22’ 1”

Screen will be on shorter side

Longer side on right is a sliding door, on left is a long sliding window. So can’t place speakers on the long sides. Speaker placement can be possible only on front and rear. There’s no speaker layout in thought.

Concrete floor, Room is done with acoustics in mind, Thick Curtains on long sides also.

No neighbour issues
