If you already have the 780? No... Unless you can sell it for the exact price you bought it for. Besides if you are just playing 1080p you are already maxing it regardless.

Also if you are just playing 1080p you are already maxing it. And if it is a reference 290x I wouldn't recommend it at all unless you are willing to water cool it.

No point in 'upgrading'.... not that much of a difference, if you already have a 780 just go SLI.

Not quite the best comparison.

780 ti vs R9 290X, 780 vs R9 290.

290X isn't worth the extra money spent in my opinion. You can get a 780 for the same price for $400 or whatever the retail price is with 6GB ram I think.
