Corsair 12VHPWR Extension PSU Compatibility

Doixk

Hello all,

I was shopping around for a replacement cable for the included nvidia splitter for my 4070 super. Other than cablemod, the most readily available and reputable cable Ive seen is the one from Corsair. (Link) https://www.corsair.com/us/en/p/pc-components-accessories/cp-8920332/premium-individually-sleeved-12-4pin-pcie-gen-5-12vhpwr-600w-cable-type-4-white-cp-8920332

But it says that it is ONLY compatible with corsair PSUs. I currently have a Thermaltake PSU. Although to me, it just seems like it’s two 8 pin standard pcie connectors to the 12VHWPR connector. So is there anything I’m missing to make it not compatible with any PSU as long as you have the available pcie connectors available on your PSU? Or is it just corsair wanting you to buy one of their PSU’s?

I'd not swap between the same manufacturer PSUs, only perhaps if the specs specify that the cable is compatible for given model.

I edit my posts more often than not
