13700k Cooler

Go to solution Solved by Levent,

If leaving some performance compared to H150 is fine by you, then yeah sure.

Hello,

is it ok to use Noctua NH-U12A for i7 13700k? I tried Corsair H150 RBG AIO and it was perfect but pump sound bothers me even when I reduce its speed.

Thanks

The Thermalright Peerless Assassin is also a really good option for an inexpensive yet well-performing air cooler. It's also not as chunky as other good coolers like the beQuiet Dark Rock Pro 4 I'm using in my PC

As Levent implied, and I know is true, the U12A is insufficient. You need something better, like the be quiet! Dark Rock Pro, TR PA120, or even better with the PS120 or the FS140, DC Assassin IV, DC AK620, etc.

I've been using computers since around 1978, started learning programming in 1980 on Apple IIs, started learning about hardware in 1990, ran a BBS from 1990-95, built my first Windows PC around 2000, taught myself malware removal starting in 2005 (also learned on Bleeping Computer), learned web dev starting in 2017, and I think I can fill a thimble with all that knowledge. 😉 I'm not an expert, which is why I keep investigating the answers that others give to try and improve my knowledge, so feel free to double-check the advice I give.

My phone's auto-correct is named Otto Rong.🤪😂

phantom spirit 120 is better for ~35$

better the cooler the less you have to spin the fans up the more quiet

There are other great AIOs you can choose from if air coolers aren't strong enough and/or too quiet.

Thank you all for the tips, I will try the NH-U12A as it is very quiet, I will compare it with the Aio H150 and share the result with you. I'm not a gamer, so I won't push the CPU to the max... I hope the NH-U12A is enough and quiet.

I have the U12A. It's a fine cooler, but it's not good enough. Good luck.
