I was updating my BIOS and whet it I think was done my pc didnt want to show any video, it has been like this for about 20 minutes and I have tried reseating the display cable with no success should I just press the reset switch?

If it's actually been 20 minutes or longer, then yes. You should be able to restart the computer.
