I have bad experiences with Seagate hdd's WD red plus or pro ? upgrading

Go to solution Solved by tkitch,

WD Red Pro and Plus are both very good drives.   They're CMR storage which is what you want.

Pro have a longer warranty and officially support larger drive pools.

Either is a killer option.

I would suggest if you go with wd drives that you disable wdda on the nas then. WD marks their drives as warning and you will get notifications of a failing drive and to replace it after 3 years of power on hours even though there is nothing wrong with the drive.

Yes that's a good price. I haven't seen those less than 230.
