Good macro lens

Hi!

Which of those two lenses is better IQ-wise:

Nikorr AF-S 40 mm F/2.8 G

Nikorr AF-S 60 mm F/2.8 D

I am using D7100 so the lack AF motor is no issue for me. I will be doing some macro shots, but i also want it to be my portrait lens since i've only got the standard F/3.5-F/5.6 zoom from Nikon.

I'd get the 40mm. You can get physically closer than the 60mm and get the same results.

Plus, the 40mm is cheaper. 

 

As for portrait shots, I would get something like the "nifty fifty"

I'd get the Nikon AF-S VR Micro-Nikkor 105mm f/2.8G IF-ED Lens

for macro photography and for portraits the Nikon 85mm f/1.8 G is very popular. I have the 85mm and IQ is amazing.
