So as of right now i use a Ryzen 5 2600 with the RX 6700xt which i upgraded form the GTX 1650, i am looking to upgrade my CPU from the Ryzen 5 2600 to something better. I have my eyes on the Ryzen 7 5700x right know but i do not know if that is a good choice or not, i checked the compatibility with my Motherboard which is a ASRock B450-HDV R.4 which to my knowledge can run the Ryzen 7 5700x after i upgraded the BIOS which i did. Or should i upgrade to AM5? but i have a budget of like 150 $US or something like that, i'm not living in the US though.

My Computer Specs as of right now is
CPU
Ryzen 5 2600

GPU RX 6700xt
MotherBoard ASRock B450-HDV R.4
RAM : 16x2 GB 3200 MHz DDR4 (Limiting it now because CPU only supports upto 2933 MHz)

PSU : 500W PSU 80+ Silver(I Think)

Applications i'm using are :
Blender (Later)

Photoshop

Video Editing

Games that i wanna play :
Cyberpunk
CS2
BG3
Valorant

Thanks and help me.

With $150 get a 5700X, budget is not enough for an AM5 upgrade

For your applications, you'd be better off getting something like a 5900X, but not for gaming.

I see, i understand that it would be too overkill to buy a 9 5900X just for gaming or are there other reasons as to why that CPU shouldn't game?  and i will probably use the application more than gaming. but overall i just want to make this pc last for a couple of years before i have to think to upgrade again.

You can game reasonably well on the 5900X, but the 5700X3D would be a better CPU for that.

You're welcome. For reference, the 5900X is often a bit faster than a 7700/7700X when the app is fully multithreaded, so at the discounted prices it is actually a pretty good buy for owners of AM4 who use very CPU-demanding apps.

For gaming the X3D is just... better and since it has 8 fast cores, it is still more than enough for most apps, if you're not a professional user.

There's a benchmark for Blender at the end of this review of the X3D:
