Hello everyone,

I've been gaming on laptops/consoles for all my life, but i have now decided to get a desktop! However, i have VERY LITTLE knowledge/understanding (if at all) on how to build my own setup, and what constitutes a good part, how to choose compatible parts etc..

So here are some infos on what i'm looking for:

  • Budget: ~2500 €
  • Location: France
  • Use (gaming, rendering, etc): Gaming exclusively, mostly solo games
  • Peripherals required (monitor, keyboard/mouse, etc): non-factor, i plan to play games with a controller
  • Operating System required: Windows

Other infos that might be useful: The esthetic of my setup does NOT matter to me. In terms of display, i'd like a 2K monitor with a refresh rate of at least 140 HZ. I don't want a 4K one because from what i understand, it is difficult to run games at 4K over 60 fps within my budget. Also, do you think OLED screens are worth it? Portability is kind of a factor. I understand i am never going to be able move it around like a laptop, but i at least want it to be small enough so i don't have to put it in a hold ( if i ever move places and have to take the train/airplane, i don't want it to be damaged or stolen)

Thank you!

Thank you, I really like this setup a lot! I'd like to hear what other members think of it, but it looks super solid to me especially since it includes a 4k monitor 🙂

Hello!

So i have decided to change somethings from your suggested list of components ( because i want it to be shipped assembled and have a warranty on the build globally, and since i'm going with the website https://www.materiel.net/ , they don't have some of the parts you listed) :

I replaced the case with this one: Aerocool Prism G V2

The CPU fan with this : DeepCool AK400 Zero Dark PLUS

However, i am not sure what motherboard to take ( except that i want one with integrated Wi-Fi), since they don't have Gigabyte A620M GAMING X AX Micro ATX AM5

How important is a motherboard for gaming, and what other available options should i go for given this setup ? Thanks

Most monos will be fine, they don’t matter for your purposes

The cooler should be ok
