While making sure to go with a 3600CL16 secondary kit, the other subtimings won't affect you much.  DDR4 is mature and should have no issue.

depending on use case and CPU, it might force the RAM to run at slower speeds, because higher speeds would cause it to crash or be unstable at quad channel

So should I just upgrade to a 2x16GB kit instead? My main usage is video editing and gaming mainly

Yes, but don't call it quad channel 🙂 It's still dual channel, just twice.  True quad channel is server stuff.

 

It'll work fine, DDR4 and the memory controllers are a decade old and are old friends.
